“"Eli Lilly is the purest listed expression of the house anchor thesis — metabolic disease as the master switch of chronic illness — and it is running the fastest large-cap revenue growth in this batch: +45.2% in FY2025 to $65.179B, +55.5% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2026, at an 83.8% gross margin. It is also the most concentrated business we cover: the 10-Q states that Mounjaro and Zepbound alone were 65 percent of total revenue in the first quarter of 2026, up from 56 percent for the full year 2025. This dive is written into a specific and unusual moment. The company reports the second quarter TOMORROW, 2026-08-05, on consensus EPS of $6.06 and revenue of $20.685B, after FIVE consecutive large beats (the most recent $8.55 against $6.97). Two things about that streak deserve stating plainly. First, the consensus $6.06 is 4.0% BELOW the $6.31 the company earned in the same quarter last year, on revenue expected to rise 33% — an arithmetic that only resolves through large charges, most plausibly acquired in-process R&D from up to $12 billion of pending acquisitions the 10-Q discloses. Second, the last beat was lower quality than it looked: the 10-Q attributes part of it to a favorable ONE-TIME adjustment to estimates for rebates and discounts, the effective tax rate fell to 16.4% from 20.2%, and there was no repeat of the prior-year $1.57B in-process charge. The data in this file is a quarter stale — the newest income statement ends 2026-03-31. The technical setup is the opposite of stretched: RSI 42.1, MACD negative, 3.1% below the 50-DMA, 9.7% below the 52-week closing high. Base fair value $1,220 at 27.0x FY2027 consensus is 9.3% above spot and 7.3% BELOW the street's $1,315.42 — we are the more cautious party. Own it; do not complete the purchase into a print you cannot handicap."”
